"Physical Education is the only subject which, by the very nature of its content, has the potential to affect how a person will feel every moment of every day for the rest of his or her life."

                                     -Allen Russell

John F. Kennedy stated, "Intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong."

"Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live."

Some precautions to remember are when participating in any physical activity are:

  • Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers during activity
  • Put on appropriate gear for the activity, such as helmets and protective pads
  • Always warm up before doing exercise and cool down afterwards to lower the risk of strains and sprains
  • Take appropriate breaks during the activity
  • Do not exercise with an empty stomach
  • Drink small amounts of water just before and during activity, along with plenty of water after physical activity.
  • Listen to your body. Do not exercise if you are not feeling well.  If you feel dizzy, short of breath, or nausea while exercising stop the activity and let your parents know.
