Carry Over

Carry-over is defined as the ability to take an individual speech/language skill learned in the therapy room and apply it broadly in all speaking situations. Getting our students to use their articulation and communication skills outside of the therapy environment requires that we begin the process of carryover as soon as the skill is demonstrated in a variety of environments. Please use the attached “carry-over calendar” as a way to help your child work on these new skills at home.  Calendars will be updated monthly.  For those parents whose children are working on articulation, the target sound will be sent home as needed.  If you can, choose a few activities weekly.  You can expand on these activities as you see fit.  Daily skill practice is the best way to support the skills your child is learning in therapy.
