About Me

¡Mucho gusto!

My name is Rachel Fischer, I am the long-term substitute for Nicole Sandoval from January 2019 - June 2019. I teach Spanish A, Spanish B, and Spanish I at Bulkeley Middle School and Rhinebeck High School. I am always willing to answer questions or concerns and I am appreciative of your time and communication. My email address is [email protected].

I am a Hudson Valley native, born and raised in Poughkeepsie. I have been studying Spanish for 12 years, since I was in seventh grade myself! I attended SUNY Fredonia and SUNY New Paltz. I have lived in Salamanca, Spain and Cuernavaca, Mexico. Both experiences gave me invaluable language and cultural experience that I pass along to my students every chance I get. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, learning new languages and kayaking when the weather allows. Spanish truly is my passion, though, and it is my hope to instill that passion for Spanish and languages in general in my students.

My goal during my time at Rhinebeck is to encourage my students to be fearless language learners. We have to be brave and take risks when learning a new language. Mistakes will happen but the only way to learn a language is to speak. So, speak up!

I am looking forward to a fun and successful 6 months with you!
