Drama Club Officers and Description of Duties

DRAMA CLUB OFFICERS

  ♦  President: Jonah Carleton  ♦  Vice President: Nicole Prout

Secretary: McKenna Jackson  ♦  Treasurer: Elena Raccauia ♦  Cheer-Meister: Open

 

 Students in any officer or production position must maintain passing school grades,

good attendance and have a good discipline record.

 

President

  1. Presides at all meetings. Leads by example.
  2. Gets cast into warm ups on-time at the beginning of each rehearsal after Stage manager calls the rehearsal to order.
  3. Assists in recruiting new members
  4. With Club advisor, plans, coordinates and supervises club activities
  5. Represents the Drama Club at school-wide activities, such as assemblies and freshmen orientation
  6. If cast in a production, the president is still responsible for ALL duties relating to the post.  If the vice president is not cast, he or she may stand in for the president.  Otherwise, it is the president’s responsibility to fulfill his or her club duties.
  7. Serves as a committee chairperson for the fall productions/ workshop schedule and gives recommendations for Spring Musical based on club surveys.
  8. Must be have been in Drama club at least one yr.

 Vice President

  1. Attends all Club meetings.
  2. Presides in the absence of the president.
  3. Is responsible with the president for assisting in the recruitment of new members.
  4. Serves as a committee chairperson for the fall productions/ workshop schedule.
  5. If cast in a production, the vice president is still responsible for ALL duties relating to the post. 

Secretary

  1. Attends all Club meetings
  2. Keeps the records of meetings
  3. Attends to Club communications between actors, stage & tech crew, pit and directors
  4. Writes and submits announcements to the office with advisor approval.
  5. Assistant to the director during HS Musical.
  • Be at rehearsal 10 min. prior and 10 min. after rehearsals
  • Make attendence binder and keep attendance and contact records
  • Will maintain a Production Book that will contain all information necessary for the production: Company Roster, production and rehearsal calendars, prop list, Daily Rehearsal Reports, Performance Logs .... any and everything pertaining to the production. This production book must be brought to every production meeting.
  • Oversee actors and communicate needs to the director - The Big Brother/ Big Sister to the company - and eyes and ears to the director
  • Works closely with director. Needs tight lips.6.
  • If cast is a production, the secretary is still responsible for ALL duties relating to the post.

Treasurer (2 year term)

  1. Attends all Club meetings
  2. Collects any club fees from members and keeps records of who has paid.
  3. Is co-signer to any purchases and deposits made to the treasury
  4. If cast in a production, the treasurer is still responsible for ALL duties relating to the post.

 Historian/ PR

  1. Attends all Club meetings
  2. Keeps the records of all activities: plays, production dates, casts, crews, etc.
  3. Keeps an on-line scrapbook of news clippings, posters, programs, etc.
  4. Serves as a committee chairperson for the fall productions/ workshop schedule.
  5. If cast in a production, the historian is still responsible for ALL duties relating to the post.
  1. Helps distribute club info
  2. Assists with program production

 Cheer-Meister

  1. Attends all Club meetings
  2. Assists in planning club functions.
  3. Helps recruit new members.
  4. Acts as a mentor to new Club members by answering questions and helping them to feel welcome and appreciated in the club.
  5. Maintains an overall attitude of cheerfulness and positive energy in order to remind club members that Plays are meant to be fun!
