RCSD Needs Parent Input by This Friday, Oct 26 by Completing Important 2018-19 School Climate Survey

The Rhinebeck Central School District needs your participation to assist us in our efforts to address and improve student social amnd emotional wellness in our schools. In partnership with the National School Climate Center (NSCC), we are asking ALL parents to provide us with feedback on school climate by participating in a survey called the Comprehensive School Climate Inventory (CSCI). The District last administered the CSCI in 2017 and is again surveying to continue the process of gathering stakeholder perceptions of school climate.  This year's survey closes this Friday evening, October 26th, so please take a few minutes to become part of the solution to addressing student healtj and wellness.

A different version of the survey has or will be administered to students in Grades 3 through 12 during the school day, as well as to school personnel, thus providing the opportunity for the District to hear from every single member of our school community. If you do not wish to have your child complete the survey, kindly contact your child’s building principal and notify him in writing by Monday, October 15, of your do not wish your child to particpate in completing the survey. If you would like to view a copy of the student survey before administration to the student body, please contact your child's building principal to do so.

All versions of the School Climate Survey are designed to assess perceptions of the school environment, including safety, relationships, support for learning, and the environment within the school. The survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete.  Your feedback is important to help the Rhinebeck Central School District understand and address the specific climate issues in our schools. All responses are anonymous. There are no names attached to the survey, and all data will be reported in terms of the way groups of people respond to items.

The parent survey may be completed on-line by visiting the District’s website at www.rhinebeckcsd.org, following the ‘School Climate Survey for Parents’ link under the ‘Families” tab, and clicking on the link to the building-specific survey. You can also copy or key the following address directly into your computer’s web browser: https://scrc.schoolclimate.org/mysurvey/show/1653?s_id=348.

The CSCI survey will be available for parent participation through Friday, October 26, 2018. Please note that the District is asking parents to complete a survey for each building in which your child(ren) attends school. If you have more than one child in the District, please complete one survey for each building your children attend.

The National School Climate Center (NSCC) will compile the results and conduct a thorough data analysis. When this process is completed, NSCC will provide the District with its findings, which will be analyzed by the Comprehensive District Education Planning (CDEP) team and will be used to inform future school planning initiatives.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey and we hope you will join us in this effort to make our schools even better places for your children to learn.
