Student Video Chronicles Rhinebeck Science Foundation Grant Helping BMS/RHS Library Go "High-er Tech"

Thanks to a grant from the Rhinebeck Science Foundation, the BMS/RHS Library has gone "high-er tech"! Library Media Specialist Diane Linenbroker applied for the grant and was enthusiastically supported with almost $55,000 to improve the technology in the library media center. With these funds, the library has acquired 16 iMacs, 30 iPads, 6 Chromebooks, 6 Nexus Tablets, 10 camcorders, 10 digital cameras, a large format printer, a large format scanner, tablet charging carts, and supplies such as cases, tripods, and memory cards.

The new technology has increased student access to technology, has allowed individuals to more effectively conduct self-directed learning, and has enabled students to choose the most appropriate platform for their needs. The opportunities for hands-on learning experiences and creativity will increase as the technology is integrated into the curriculum. One example of such integration is a 7th grade Social Studies Civil War documentary project spearheaded by Mr. Henry Frischknecht.

A video documenting the new technology was produced by Gabe Hammoud, a 10th grade RHS student. It can be accessed via You Tube at the following link: .
