Budget Vote/Election Results
The 2014-15 Rhinebeck Central School budget was approved by the District's voters on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. A total of 642 votes were cast. 492 votes were tallied in favor of the budget, with 134 "No" votes registered. The budget passed by a margin of 76.6% in favor.
The budget featured a 1.87% budget-to-budget increase and a resulting tax levy increase of 1.87%, just beneath the State tax levy limit of 1.88% for the Rhinebeck District.
In addition, incumbent Deirdre Burns (485 votes) and write-in candidate Richard Walker (248 votes) were elected to three-year terms as members of the Board of Education, beginning July 1, 2014. Walker returns to the Board after serving as a trustee for nine years, from July 1989 through June 1998.
Write-in candidate David Tobias tallied 196 votes in an unsuccessful bid for one of the Board seats.
