Rhinebeck Health & Wellness Committee Presents 2016-17 "Parent Academy" Program

This year's Parent Academy session was put together for specifically for the CLS community.  However, all RCSD parents are welcome to join us for the following event:



The Parent Academy is a series of workshops sponsored by the Rhinebeck Central School District’s Health and Wellness Committee.  The purpose of these workshops is to educate and inform the families of the Rhinebeck community about the many societal challenges and changes facing school districts in the 21st Century as we support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success of our students.


Invited: Parents and students of CLS in particular, but all RCSD parents are welcome

Date:      Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Chancellor Livingston Elementary School

Time:     6:00 pm-8:00 p.m.; Participants can choose which workshops to attend

Living in a Social Media World

                                           Adolescent Sleep and School Start Time

 Workshops Offered: 

Living in a Social Media World – an informative presentation on the psycho/social development of the adolescent mind and the realities of being a teenager, the realities and dangers of social media and how the different forums can be used, parental controls, and the stress students are under.

Presenters:  Panel will include at least two of the following:  John Nathan – Psychotherapist, Sergeant Todd Grieb – Dutchess County Sheriff, Meg Rodier – Rhinebeck High School/Middle School Social Worker, and a Rhinebeck studen


Adolescent Sleep and School Start Times – an insightful look into adolescent sleep patterns, how sleep patterns change as children mature, and a question and answer segment on adolescent sleep and our September 2016 school start time

Presenters:  Dr. Barbara Chatr-Aryamontri, head of The Sleep Center of Excellence at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, Tom Burnell – Assistant Superintendent Support Services
