BMS Student Hit By School Bus While Walking Home on Thursday, June 11, 2015, Sustains Minor Injuries

On Thursday, June 11th at approximately 2:30 pm, a Bulkeley Middle School student was struck on the arm while walking home on Arnett Avenue in the Village of Rhinebeck by a Durham Transportation school bus transporting students.

The student who was involved in the accident received minor injuries and was transported to Northern Dutchess Hospital for further examination.

Students on the bus were evaluated by Rhinebeck Fire Department EMS personnel and school district medical staff.  Parents of the students were contacted immediately to apprise them of the situation. Students on the bus received no injuries upon being evaluated at the scene.

Rhinebeck Police credited the bus driver with prudent speed and attentiveness in avoiding what could have been a more serious outcome.
