The Rhinebeck High School Drama Club took a movie, play and board game to the high school auditorium stage with its performance of the murder mystery and comedy, “Clue,” on Nov. 1 and 2.

“It happened with so much commitment from the cast, the crew, the parent team that’s helping, my assistant director/producer and students who picked up every single loose end and just put it in a little package to present to the audience,” said Elle Renaldo, play director.

Maia Weiss, assistant director, added, “The set is beyond beautiful, the costumes are great and the actors are doing a phenomenal job.”

“Clue” is a board game that became a comedy mystery film in movie theaters and a play on stage. The board game dates back to the 1940s in the United Kingdom, and the movie was released in 1985 with Tim Curry as Wadsworth the butler.

“It’s great to take on the role that Tim Curry played in the movie,” said Augustus Morgan, who played Wadsworth in the drama club production.

Morgan added, “Everything came together great. Everyone did a great job and knew what they were doing. It was a pretty professional environment considering it’s a high school production.”

Elliot VanSteenburg played Mr. Green, who reveals he’s an undercover FBI agent and solved the crime at the end of the production.

“The community and everyone in the cast and crew are amazing and great people,” he said. “I had a lot of fun doing this. I love acting because of the community it builds.”

Daphne Tamm was one of the murder victims, the cook.

“It was a lot of fun. It’s a lot of people I know and get along with,” she said of the cast and crew.
