COVID-19 Test

Upon recommendation by the CDC, the New York State Department of Health provided revisions to local health departments regarding the isolation of individuals who test positive for COVID-19 as well as the quarantine periods for individuals who are exposed to an individual who tested positive.

The Dutchess County Department of Behavioral and Community Health (DCBCH) provided new guidance to school districts related to action steps associated with a positive test as well as designation as a close contact. See the chart below.

Any positive test - regardless of vaccination status - would required an individual to isolate for at least 5 days, and longer if symptomatic or immunocomprised. Also, a student with symptoms should not come to school, regardless of vaccination status. Refer to the "Can I Go to School Today" chart on the homepage.
