Counseling Services (old)

The Counseling  Team  in the Rhinebeck Central School District consists of School Counselors, School Social Workers, and School Psychologists in all Rhinebeck CSD schools. The expertise of the Counseling  Team members provide students with supports and programs to assist students in developing study skills,  intrapersonal skills, relationship  building, and individual goal setting.

School Counselors work to maximize student success, promoting access and equity for all students. As vital members of the school team, school counselors create a school culture of success for all. School counselors help all students: apply academic achievement strategies, manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills, plan for post-secondary options (higher education, military, work force). School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals who can assist with mental health concerns, behavioral concerns, positive behavioral support, academic, and classroom support, consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators as well as provide individual and group counseling/therapy. School social workers are instrumental in furthering the mission of the schools which is to provide a setting for teaching, learning, and for the attainment of competence and confidence. School Psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
