CLS PE Department

Jump Rope

Students worked hard to improve their jump rope skills. Some of these activities consist of practicing single jump rope skills (i.e. normal jumping, scissors jumping, speed jumping, eyes closed/midnight jumping, frog jumping, 360 jumping, front cross jumping, double jump jumping, etc.), practicing long jump rope skills (i.e. cold start, hot start, hot exit, double dutch, turning of long jump rope, etc.), jump the ring, jump the brook, line jumping, shadow jumping, and jump rope tag.

We collaborate with the American Heart Association for this unit by participating in Jump Rope For Heart. 5th grade student volunteers have the opportunity to peer teach during the JRFH unit. During their recess, students can assist our PE classes by working with younger students on their jumping rope skill development.
