The Board of Education is responsible for authorizing the placement of memorial objects or symbols in District school buildings or on school grounds. Permission for the creation of a memorial for a former student, teacher, or other school employee who passed away while a member of the Rhinebeck school community must be requested in writing by an individual or group and must receive prior approval by the Board of Education.
The Board is responsible for accepting donations to fully fund the objects (signs, trees, plaques, etc.) to be placed in remembrance of deceased former students, teachers, or other school employees as outlined above, the design for which is also subject to the Board’s prior approval. Such donations are the responsibility of the individual or organization seeking and obtaining Board of Education approval for such memorial designation.
