Vote for CLS Kids and Their PE Program's Entry Into NYS AHPERD "Get Moving Grant"
The CLS PE Program has submitted an entry for the “Get Moving Grant” sponsored by NYS AHPERD (Association for Health, PE, Recreation, and Dance). PE teachers Kevin Yarnell and Ryan Edson filmed CLS students jumping rope to a choreographed musical routine. They then submitted and uploaded to the NYS AHPERD Southeastern Zone website.
These teachers and their CLS students would appreciate it if the Rhinebeck community would vote as many times as they can to help CLS win the grant. Whichever video entry receives the most votes will win the equipment grant. If we win, it will allow the CLS PE program to continue to provide students in grades K-5 with the most up-to-date, innovative equipment.
First place is worth $1,000, second is worth $500, and third is worth $250. If successful, Mr. Yarnell and Mr. Edson would like to use it to purchase some iPad minis to incorporate into the PE setting at CLS. This way, the program can stay even more current with new, innovative ideas for CLS' students.
Voting for the video grant begins today, April 13, 2015. To vote for the video, people will need to click on the following link - http://www.nysahperd.org/content/leadership/executive-council/southeastern-zone.cfm?. Once there, they will need to scroll down to the title "Get Moving Video Contest 2015" and click on the Chancellor Livingston Elementary School link. Then, after watching the video, they will need to vote for the video.
Anyone can vote, and everyone can vote as many times as he or she would like. Please assist with this effort. Voting is open until April 23rd at noon so don't delay. Remember - vote early and vote often!
