Just this
past weekend, we were informed that, for the first time since 1998, Rhinebeck High School has been recognized as a
nationally top-ranked high school by Newsweek magazine’s “Challenge
Index.”. Public schools are ranked according to a
ratio devised by Newsweek’s Jay Mathews: the number of Advanced Placement,
International Baccalaureate and/or Cambridge
tests taken by all students at a school in 2007 divided by the number of
graduating seniors. Rhinebeck High School was ranked 133rd in New York State and 1032nd
nationally. All of the schools on the list, including Rhinebeck High School,
are in the top 5 percent of public schools in the United States measured this
way. For more information on the top schools in New York State

This
recognition could not be made possible without the hard work and dedication of
Rhinebeck’s teaching, non-instructional, and administrative staff. These
achievements also are the result of the sustained and focused efforts of our
students, of your parental support of our schools and our programs and, most
importantly, of the support you give as parents to your children to do their
best work and to achieve their potential as students in our schools.
Congratulations to all!
