1.
Greetings and welcome

2004-2005 school year.
Special welcome to Mrs. Patricia Lancto, a new
parent member of this year’s BLPT.
2.
Discussion
concerning membership for this school year.
Mr. Celenza will contact RHS PTSO
representatives to fill two vacant parent membership positions. Mr. Celenza will
contact the Student Organization to fill one student membership vacancy.
3.
RHS BLPT reviewed
their process in disseminating information to the school community concerning
meeting times, minutes of meetings, etc.
The BLPT felt that the processes in place were effective and sufficient.
4.
BLPT reviewed DSPT’s Rhinebeck High School Transfer Student Questionnaire
that was administered in the spring of 2004.
The BLPT found the responses to be informative and telling and the
questionnaire to be highly effective.
BLPT requested that DSPT re-administer this questionnaire in the spring
of 2005 to new incoming transfer students.
The purpose of this re-administration is to see if our summer
orientation of these new students has changed views and attitudes of transfer
students.
5.
Discussion
regarding Open vs. Closed Campus. BLPT
asked Mr. Celenza to pursue the districts liability
with students who leave campus (with parental permission) and suffer some kind
of injury.
6.
Discussion of new
course offerings at RHS for 2004-2005 school year. BLPT would like to continue reviewing
curricula from neighboring school and encourage new and interesting offerings
for RHS students.
7.
Discussion about
confidentiality of BLPT discussions. Mr.
Celenza has been asked to get clarification relative
to this matter.
8.
Discussion of
“Drug Free School Zone”. BLPT felt it
was not feasible to produce all of the information the BOE had requested. The BLPT has asked Mr. Celenza
to arrange a meeting with a BOE member or sub committee to discuss the issue.
